An Ode to San Diego
There is something about the warm California sun and the way it shines when it rises. The rays omit a certain kind of energy that bursts at the seam, awakening each soul lucky enough to share this experience. This is the scene every morning in our San Diego office. However, with that being said, nothing energizes us more than a greeting by our mascot and cheerleader, Copper, a golden labradoodle that comes to work every day just like the rest of us.
Perhaps we are prone to taking cues from the laid-back attitude of the California surfers, but the San Diego office is a welcomed change of pace from corporate America. Ask any of our multi-talented, yet humble group of developers, engineers, and support staff that keeps our office functioning like a well-oiled machine. In fact, our Chief Technology Officer comes to work in shorts almost every day!
Our office is very family-oriented and if the weather is just right, which it usually is, you’ll find us nearby at the San Diego Zoo or SeaWorld. Or you might find us nestling our feet in sand in nearby beaches such as Mission Beach, Trestles, La Jolla Shores, or Windandsea.
The Scrypt office is located near San Diego Bay in Liberty Station, the former Naval training center in Point Loma. We settled here because of the access to local restaurants and shops, and the benefits of being in a “technology center”. And we’re really happy about the onsite gym. Our city, our location, and the products we build and support inspire us to come to work and do the best we can, every day.
For nearly two decades, Scrypt Inc., formerly Axacore, has called San Diego home. We’ve watched this community grow and we feel an overwhelming obligation to aid in the continuation of its success. As is the case with our other office in Austin, we’ve partnered with a local food bank, committing to raise 100,000 meals for hungry families. It’s a large part of our value system to be able to give back to our community and we’re excited to have old and new friends join our cause at events throughout San Diego. (Be on the lookout for more event information soon!).
San Diego, a big city with a small town charm has certainly captured our hearts and our love! We are showing our appreciation by giving back. Please donate to help us feed the hungry in San Diego.
