The fastest of the fast
Scrypt, Inc. was recently recognized by the Austin Business Journal as one of the fastest growing companies in in Central Texas in their annual Fast50 contest. This is the third year in a row that Scrypt has been featured on this list.
To qualify for the Fast50, companies based in Central Texas must have experienced dramatic revenue growth during the past three years. To that end, Scrypt has in fact grown dramatically since we were first nominated as a Fast50 company. In 2014, we were ranked 8th on the list of the fastest growing small companies in Austin. At that time, Sfax, cloud faxing for healthcare, was experiencing year over year expansion in both users and revenue.
In 2015, we ranked 18th, growing from 20 to 43 employees, and merged with our longtime technology partner, Axacore. We also expanded our product portfolio from a single well-performing solution to three software products that address both cloud faxing and document management (Sfax, FaxAgent and XDOC).
The 2016 Fast50 rankings haven’t been announced yet, but it’s clear why we made the list. Our revenue has increased substantially, and we added two more products to our healthcare portfolio by acquiring Austin-based DocbookMD, a secure mobile messaging platform, and developing Stak, document storage and digital signature for healthcare.
Achieving the Fast50 is always special, it is even more prestigious this year considering that Austin, Texas had the second-fastest growing economy of any large metropolitan in the U.S. with their economy expanding by about 5.3% in 2015. A major contributing factor was the expanding professional and business services industry, which grew by nearly 1.6% last year and contributed roughly $18 billion to the local economy. Scrypt is honored to be a contributing force to Austin’s fast-growing economy.
It is great to see that as Austin grows, Scrypt continues to grow as well.
