The Illinois Department of Health Services (DHS) has named SecureCare’s Sfax cloud-based faxing product as one of only three approved providers to meet all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requirements.

This approval assures physicians, hospitals, and medical facilities in the state that they can count on SecureCare to meet their regulatory needs in terms of EMS requirements. The Illinois DHS use the following criteria when evaluating potential vendors:

  • Vendor must not utilize any third party vendors to store and transmit data
  • Vendor must have executable Business Associate Agreements (BAAs)
  • Vendor must have domestic data storage within the United States
  • Vendor must have guaranteed HIPAA secure accounts for customers with BAAs

At SecureCare, we make documents work and receiving this approval from the State of Illinois underscores the commitment we have to providing secure, innovative and high-quality products. Sfax eliminates manual faxing pains for customers and offers secure ‘anytime, anywhere’ access to documents. Sfax also meets and exceeds compliance requirements set by Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX and Graham-Leach-Bliley (GLBA).
